Lexara is an AI-consulting firm built for law practices, combining deep legal expertise with forward-thinking AI strategies to help firms integrate generative AI safely and effectively. The company provides tailored consulting, training, and tools—from on-demand courses and AI toolkits to fully customized AI implementations—designed to give law firms a competitive edge while remaining ethical, practical, and affordable.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a conversational experience capable of collecting sensitive legal information in a clear, guided, and empathetic way. The assistant needed to ask smart questions without overwhelming the user, adapt to the specific type of case, and maintain a professional tone that built trust while avoiding any legal interpretation or promises of outcome. The complexity lay in balancing usability, clarity, and emotional support in a context where users often arrived stressed or uncertain.
Another major challenge was determining how the collected information would be transformed into a standardized, useful, and actionable summary for attorneys. This required structuring the conversation to capture critical data, addressing gaps or unclear details, and presenting the findings in a consistent, readable format that integrated seamlessly into the firm’s workflow. The design needed to ensure privacy, coherence, and efficiency, making the AI valuable for both users and the legal team.
The Solution
To meet these goals, a conversational AI experience and supporting interface were designed and developed to elevate Lexara’s client intake process while ensuring clarity, empathy, and legal responsibility. Key elements of the solution included:
Intelligent Case Intake Flow: A guided conversational system was created in which the AI adapts its questions based on the user’s situation—such as dismissal, unpaid wages, workplace conflict, or discrimination. Each path gathers essential details (dates, evidence, people involved) without overwhelming the user, maintaining clarity while fostering a calm, supportive experience.
Adaptive Question Logic: To keep the interaction natural and human, the system adjusts the depth of questioning in real time. When information is unclear, the AI politely requests clarification or flags the item for attorney review. This approach ensures accuracy while preventing the user from feeling overly interrogated.
Automated Case Summary Builder: At the conclusion of the conversation, the AI automatically generates a standardized, lawyer-ready report. The summary includes a timeline of events, key facts, missing details, and the probable legal category of the case. This structured format enables attorneys to review new inquiries in minutes rather than hours.
Seamless Integration With Legal Workflow: The system integrates directly into the firm’s internal processes—forwarding summaries to the legal team, tagging urgent cases, and linking each intake to existing case management tools. This reduces administrative workload and accelerates response times for prospective clients.
Professional, Empathetic UI Design: A minimal, clean interface with neutral colors and calming microinteractions reinforces a sense of safety and professionalism. The design balances legal seriousness with human warmth, ensuring clients feel supported from the very first message.
The Result
The redesigned intake experience delivered significant improvements in both user satisfaction and internal efficiency. Clients reported feeling more supported and less overwhelmed, thanks to the adaptive, empathetic conversational flow. The AI-driven questioning logic reduced confusion, increased the quality of information captured, and minimized the need for follow-up clarification.
For the legal team, the automated case summary builder became a substantial time-saver—enabling attorneys to assess new inquiries in minutes instead of hours. The structured summaries enhanced decision-making speed, reduced administrative burden, and made it easier to identify and prioritize urgent cases.
Because the system integrated seamlessly into the firm’s existing workflow, the transition required minimal training or process changes.
